The Position of Women in Islam

Shaykh Ṣaaliḥ al-Fawzaan says about this book:

“Some people might wonder why this subject was chosen for discussion. Is there no other subject that is more important? This subject was chosen because many doubts are being spread about it nowadays. For the subjects regarding women are of great importance in society. A woman is, after all, the center of the offspring from which society is formed. If she is righteous, this will be a means to the righteousness of her offspring and family. A poet once said:

“A mother is like a school. Educate her and you will build a great nation.”

Today’s subject will refute the doubts of those who supposedly care about the position of women, while they actually intend to criticize Islam with this. Likewise, they want to negatively influence women through these doubts, with the ultimate goal that the (Islamic) society as a whole will deteriorate. The enemies of Allaah and His Messenger sow corruption on earth at all times and in all places, so that the (good) customs and the (pious) offspring will eventually be destroyed.”
