About this product
Tamegroute pottery is recognized by its green glaze. This bowl comes from Tamegroute, a small village in the south of Morocco, and is handmade using centuries-old techniques. No two bowls are the same.
Characteristics
- Moroccan bowl made of green glazed pottery
- Handmade in Tamegroute
- The green color is created by a combination of manganese, silicon, and a small amount of copper
- Bubbles, scratches, color variations, and small spots in the glaze are part of the craft
About Tamegroute pottery
Only 7 families in the village know the production process, and each family has its own kiln and workshop. Because the kilns are small, the pieces are stacked on top of each other using spacers at three points. As a result, almost every Tamegroute product bears the characteristic scar of those support points.
Frequently asked questions
Why does every bowl look different?
The bowls are made by hand, which makes bubbles, color variations, and small spots in the glaze normal.
